3325 films from 119 countries from all over the world were submitted for consideration, from which the programming team of the festival has selected 103 films across eight competition sections, with number of them seeing their World, International and European premieres, making DokuFest an important launching pad in this part of the world for both, documentary and narrative short films.

Once again, DokuFest continues the tradition of bringing the best and the boldest of documentary and narrative cinema to Prizren and we are thrilled to be able to share the work of both, the growing number of emerging filmmakers, as well as the established ones, with our audiences soon.

“The time has come for me and for the programming team to finally share the selection of films that will compete for awards. Films that we viewed and cared so much for such a long time, films that surprised us and those that deeply moved us. But above all, films that reflect the troubled world that we live in,” says Veton Nurkollari, Artistic Director of DokuFest.

In the following days DokuFest will continue with the further programme announcements, including its eagerly awaited theme announcement, the selection for highly popular View from the World section, a Country in Focus and Spotlight programmes, members of juries, as well as a host of other specially curated programs, panel discussions, talks, master classes and music acts that will perform at the festival.

DokuFest runs from 2 to 10 of August in venues throughout the historic city center of Prizren, as well as at ITP, Innovation and Training Park.
