Throughout the entirety of the existence of DokuFest festival, music has been a persistent presence, and somehow, someway from Marash, to different coffee shops, to the castle to Andrra Stage: DokuNights has spread its own seeds. The promise has always been to bring the world to Prizren, encouraged by the intense desire to build a world so large that the nights can host an entire path of wonder.
Years ago, these music nights came into existence naturally, with small stages, sometimes improvised, with intense hours of logistical solutions that brought to Prizren artists: local and international. And all these events have shaped the unbeatable spirit of DokuNights into what it is now.
As we are celebrating our 25th edition, Dokunights makes the return to the roots, to Andrra stage. Four nights for all, expanding our territory of meeting with new people and sharing the same hours with each-other.
DokuNights was always a bubble, this small little fairytale in the middle of the thousand year old mountains. A space where the rituals of humanity go hand in hand with nature and one-another. A space where frequencies of sound make us be in touch with our soul and us as a part of a greater mission in this world.
DokuNights was always the place where our memories linger and get mixed with a collective memory, a living archive of togetherness and joy, love and what makes us human.
This edition’s programme floats around the nights touching many genres starting from the roots of shared memories such as classic disco music Don’t F**k with Disco followed by Jackal, continuing with poetry of hip-hop and lots of avant-garde lyricals.
The centerpiece is the sounds that don’t need words to send us in a higher state of consciousness together with Konduku, Carl H and Bufiman exploring the world of sounds that were forever around humans and ending with the oldest folk Albanian music blended with the other opposite territories of the same goal: Making people stay together made possible for the closing from the family of Public Display of Affection.
