From 8 to 13 August 2026, the premises of "Lidhja e Prizrenit" Primary School in Prizren will be filled with inspiring films and imaginative workshops for children aged 6 to 14. Children will have the opportunity to watch 38 films from the DokuKids programme every day from 10:00 to 12:00, and admission is free for everyone.
This festival edition will once again feature five different workshops, covering topics such as animation, visual storytelling, documentary filmmaking, storyboarding, renewable energy, and sustainability. These workshops are designed to encourage creativity, collaboration, and the development of practical skills.
Curated with love and care by Malbora Krajku and Idriz Morina, the workshops will give children the opportunity to learn from renowned artists and professionals working in the fields of art and technology.
For all children who would like to participate in the DokuKids workshops, participation is fee-based this year. Due to the high level of interest, we encourage everyone to apply early.

After submitting an application, participants will be contacted by the DokuKids team to confirm their place in the selected workshop.
Workshop fees are as follows:
1-day workshops: €10
2-day workshops: €20
3-day workshops: €30

This year's workshops
1. Puppet Lab – Puppet Making and Short Film Storytelling

Puppet Lab is a creative workshop for children aged 6–9 that combines the art of puppetry, storytelling, and filmmaking. Throughout the workshop, participants will create their own puppets, develop their characters, stories, and voices, and then bring them to life through a short collaborative performance. The process will conclude with the production of an artistic video documenting the children's imagination, collaboration, and creativity.

2. The City of the Future

What would a city powered by clean energy look like?
In this one-day hands-on workshop, organized by Bonevet, children aged 8–12 will explore how solar energy, wind energy, and hydrogen work through experiments and practical building activities. Working in teams and using educational renewable energy kits, they will design and build a functional eco-friendly city where technology and sustainability go hand in hand.
Beyond the fun, participants will develop their creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and basic engineering skills while gaining an understanding of how innovative solutions can contribute to a future with less pollution and more sustainable communities.

3. NextGen Filmmakers

A hands-on workshop in filmmaking, photography, and editing. Made possible by IPKO in partnership with Telegrafi, this two-day practical workshop introduces participants to the complete process of creating a professional short documentary, from concept development and scriptwriting to filming and editing, using both smartphones and professional cameras.

4. Cut-Out Animation: Bring Stories to Life

Cut-Out Animation is a hands-on workshop introducing participants to the basics of cut-out animation. Through simple character design, scene creation, andd animation exercises, participants will learn how to create movement, plan visual storytelling, and understand the animation workflow. The workshop encourages creativity, collaboration, and practical skills while guiding participants through the process of producing short animated sequences.

5. Practice Storyboarding: Turn Ideas into Images

Practice Storyboarding: Turn Ideas into Images is a hands-on workshop to explore the basics of visual storytelling. Through simple drawing exercises and creative thinking, participants will learn how to break down a story into scenes, sketch their ideas, and understand the role of storyboards in filmmaking. This fun and interactive session encourages imagination, planning, and the visual expression of ideas.
