São Paulo, Brazil. One of the most heavily populated cities on the planet, where 500 people die every 48 hours. Sérgio, driver for the São Paulo Municipal Funeral Service, has worked the job for twenty years and is on the verge of retirement. He specializes in the pick ups no other drivers feel comfortable accepting, mainly removing children. On a winter night, Sérgio waits alone for his first pick up.

José Menezes and Lucas Justiniano co-directed the feature documentary “Football and Barriers” (2011) and the upcoming short “3310”. José has worked as producer and photographer in feature films, as well as assistant director in several awarded shorts. Lucas has worked with documentaries, shorts and TV series for several years. “Barqueiro” is their first short film.
