When asked by his father if he finished his homework, Eugen (9) says “yes”. Then, he is sent away in his room to do his homework. His father works as a guard at a showroom for video equipment. There are news on TV about aliens landing in Vrancea. The little boy steals a camera from the showroom and starts filming. When he disappears, his father searches for him. In the end, the kid is found. The next day, the father picks up his son from the Police station. Something has irrevocably changed between the two.
Adrian Sitaru, born on 4.11.1971 in Deva, is a Romanian filmmaker living and working in Bucharest. In 2007, his short film, “Waves” brought him the Golden Leopard of Tomorrow in Locarno Film Festival. His debut feature film, “Hooked”, premiered at the Venice Days Film Festival in 2008 and established Sitaru as a new voice in Romanian post communist cinema. Since then, his films gathered recognition from festivals such as Chicago, Sundance, Berlinale and Sarajevo.
