We’re honored to announce that on the occasion of the 10th passing anniversary of the renowned film and theatre actor Bekim Fehmiu, DokuFest will screen Aleksandar Petrovic’s I EVEN MET HAPPY GYPSIES, winner of the Grand Prix at the 1967 Cannes Film Festival.

With Bekim Fehmiu as the main protagonist, the film portrays the tensions in a Gypsy community when a local feather seller falls in love with a much younger girl.

I EVEN MET HAPPY GYPSIES will be screened this Monday, 15th June, from 7 pm in the open spaces of Key, located in front of the Prizren League.

The ceremony will begin by throwing flowers in Lumbardhi river – as a symbol of honoring the figure of the famous actor and his exquisite contribution to the local and international cinematography – and will proceed with Xhevdet Doda who will read inserts from Bekim Fehmiu’s book.

10 Years Without Bekim event is organized in collaboration with Municipality of Prizren, is free of charge and will be held in accordance with social distancing rules.
