<p>Backed by almost 15 years of innovative filmmaking, French director Jean-Gabriel Périot (b. 1974) has amassed a sizeable oeuvre, mostly shorts constructed from an intriguing trove of archival footage. Slyly precise editing strategies have allowed Périot to address crucial socio-economic issues relying solely on these oft-rescued images to build his narrative.</p>
