A documentary about the history of the Red Army Faction and the images generated by this story. The film is entirely produced by editing preexisting visual and sound archives. It aims to question viewers on the significance of this revolutionary movement during its time, as well as its resonance for today’s society.
Backed by almost 15 years of innovative filmmaking, French director Jean-Gabriel Périot (b. 1974) has amassed a sizeable oeuvre, mostly shorts constructed from an intriguing trove of archival footage. Slyly precise editing strategies have allowed Périot to address crucial socio-economic issues relying solely on these oft-rescued images to build his narrative.
