Happy to announce that we are partnering on ARTISTIC DIFFERENCES, a new monthly series from UnionDocs that makes room for bravely sharing and responding to challenging documentary art, invites a diverse audience, bringing those voices to the stage of a public dialogue in some of the most exciting documentary festivals and spaces around the world.
There are three parts each month: A FILM PROGRAM and DIALOGUE that we will host, and an online STUDY GROUP for a deeper engagement guided by UnionDocs with a bold lineup of thinkers, and critics. We will begin with UNDER A ROOF, a pairing of films by Besim Sahatçiu (117, Yugoslavia, 1976 ) and Manuela Serra (O Movimento das Coisas / The Movement of Things, Portugal, 1985). The STUDY GROUP will include writer Boris Buden who will share and stimulate a group of questions in a highly structured conversation with participants to bring to the final DIALOGUE with filmmaker Manuela Serra.
Co-programmed with Cintia Gil, this collective experience asks how we can generate a public space for a better conversation around documentary film.
