Valérie Massadian është regjisore dhe fotografe autodidakte franko-armeneze. Filmi i saj i parë, ‘Nana’, mori çmimin Opera Prima në Festivalin e Filmit në Locarno në vitin 2011. Filmi i saj i dytë artistik, ‘Milla’, si dhe filmat e saj të shkurtër, janë shfaqur dhe e vlerësuar në Festivale Ndërkombëtare të Filmit si Locarno, Valdivia, Jeonju, Ficunam, Doc Lisboa... Puna e saj fokusohet te personazhet femra. Natyra e tyre shtazore, lidhja e tyre me botën dhe natyrën. E ushqyer në vazhdimësi me secilin protagonist, duke përzier përrallën me realizëm, poetikën dhe politikën, filmat e saj luajnë me kufijtë e fiksionit, duke definuar kufinjtë e vetë.

Themelues dhe bashkë-drejtues i ‘Curtas Metragens Vila do Conde Film Festival’ nga viti 1993 deri në 2013. Themelues dhe drejtor i përgjithshëm i festivalit të filmit ‘PortoPostDoc’ që nga viti 2014. Përgjegjës për programin e muzikës dhe filmit në Festivalin Ndërkombëtar të Xhazit në Porto 1999-2001. Mësues i edukimit artistik në sistemin e arsimit kombëtar publik dhe studimeve filmike në ‘Escola das Artes Catolica Porto University’. Themelues dhe Drejtor i ‘PortoPostDoc’ që nga botimi i parë.

Maryam Tafakory, e lindur në Iran, është një artiste dhe regjisore, kolazhet tekstuale dhe filmike të së cilës gërshetojnë poezinë, filmin dokumentar, arkivin dhe materialet e gjetura. Puna e saj është ekspozuar ndërkombëtarisht duke përfshirë MoMA Doc Fortnight; IFF Roterdam; EIFF Edinburgh; MIFF Melburn; E vërtetë/E gabuar; Muzeu i Pergamonit; M HKA; dhe Arkivi i Filmit Antologjik, ndër të tjera. Ajo ka marrë disa çmime duke përfshirë Ammodo Tiger Short në IFFR-në e 51-të, ‘Barbara Hammer Feminist Film Award’ në Festivalin e 60-të të Filmit Ann Arbor, Çmimin e Jurisë në Documenta Madrid dhe filmin më të mirë të shkurtër në ‘Festival de Cine Lima Independiente’. Ajo u nderua me çmimin ‘Flaherty/Colgate Distinguished Global Filmmaker in Residence’ (NY) në 2019, dhe një ‘MacDowell Fellowship’ në 2022.

Shoshi Korman punon në Cinephil, një firmë ndërkombëtare shitjesh dhe këshillimi me një reputacion të fortë për sigurimin e marrëveshjeve ndërkombëtare të shpërndarjes, transmetimit dhe financimit për dokumentarë nga e gjithë bota në emër të producentëve dhe regjisorëve. Shoshi fokusohet në festivale, fushata të lirimit dhe çmimeve. Titujt e fundit për të cilët ajo ka punuar përfshijnë filmin të nominuar tre herë për çmimin Oscar, "FLEE", nga Jonas Poher Rasmussen; dy herë i nominuar për çmimin Academy "Collective", nga Alexander Nanau, "Gunda", nga Victor Kossakovsky: fitues i Sundance dhe i nominuar nga Akademia për çmimin "A House Made of Splinters".

Rron Ginovci është aktivist i arsimit, themelues dhe drejtor ekzekutiv i ORCA - Organizatë për Përmirësimin e Cilësisë në Arsim (2016 - aktual). Rroni është aktiv në jetën publike të Kosovës si komentator politik, rol të cilin e përdor për mbështetjen e ndryshimeve progresive shoqërore. Si aktivist i shoqërisë civile në Kosovë, Rroni ishte anëtar i Ekipit Përgatitor për të Vërtetën dhe Komisionin e Pajtimit në Kosovë, iniciativë e Zyrës së Presidentit të Kosovës gjatë viteve 2017-2019. Më parë Rroni ka punuar për Qendrën për Ri-kërkim, Dokumentim dhe Publikim, një OJQ e specializuar në Drejtësinë Tranzicionale dhe Ballafaqim me të Kaluarën, si dhe gazetar i pavarur për Rrjetin Ballkanik të Gazetarisë Hulumtuese (BIRN - Kosovë). Rroni ishte vullnetar si mësues jashtëshkollor joformal për Partneritetin Idetë, ku punoi me një grup nxënësish të shkollave fillore nga komunitetet romë, ashkali dhe egjiptianë.

Dina Pokrajac është kritike filmi, kuratore dhe programuese. Ajo u diplomua në Gazetari dhe Shkenca Politike dhe është kandidate për doktoraturë në Antropologji Kulturore në Universitetin e Zagrebit me një tezë mbi arkivat e filmit dhe praktikat “kundër-kujtesës” (counter-memory). Ajo punon për Restart, një organizatë e fokusuar në prodhimin, shpërndarjen dhe ekspozimin e filmave dokumentarë dhe është menaxhere e kinemasë Dokukino QIC. Ajo është drejtore artistike e Festivalit ‘Subversive’, përzgjedhëse e ZagrebDox dhe ka kuruar projekte të shumta ndërdisiplinore që ndërthurin filmin dhe teorinë kritike. Ajo punon gjithashtu si përkthyese, duke përkthyer ndër të tjera veprat "Arti dhe teknika" të Lewis Mumford, "Misteri dhe sjelljet" e Flannery O'Connor dhe "Pas-imazhet" e Laura Mulvey. Ajo është redaktore e shtëpive botuese ‘Jesenski i Turk dhe Bijeli val’ dhe ka redaktuar mbi 20 libra në fushën e filozofisë, shkencave politike dhe teorisë së filmit. Ajo ishte fituese e çmimit Vladimir Vukovic për kritikën më të mirë të filmit të ri në 2017. Mori pjesë në Sarajevo Talents 2020 dhe Berlinale Talents 2021.

Cecilia ka një diplomë Bachelor në Komunikim nga Universidad de Córdoba dhe Master në Filmim Dokumentar nga Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. Ajo ishte drejtore artistike e Mar del Plata IF midis 2018 dhe 2021 dhe anëtare e ekipit të programimit të festivalit që nga viti 2010. Cecilia kishte qenë bashkëprogramuese për Skenat fqinje: Kinemaja e Re Latino-Amerikane në Film në Lincoln Center dhe këshilltare programi për Antofacine në Kili. Ajo ishte kuratore e Documenta Madrid dhe ka kuruar programe speciale për UnionDocs, MACBA, Museo Reina Sofa dhe La Casa Encendida, ndër të tjera. Në vitin 2020, asaj iu dha titulli i nderit "Kvaliere e Arteve dhe Letrave" nga Ministria Franceze e Kulturës. Ajo ka qenë anëtare e Bordit Këshillimor për Qendrën e Studimit të Filmit në Universitetin e Harvardit, si dhe Studiues Vizitues në Qendrën David Rockefeller për Studimet e Amerikës Latine në Harvard.

Artan Sadiku është një filozof, studiues dhe veprimtar anarkist nga Shkupi dhe interesat e tij janë teoritë e temës, të menduarit queer, ekonomia politike, kultura nëntokësore dhe praktikat autonome në shoqëri dhe arte. Ai është një nga themeluesit e lëvizjes Solidarnost, Qendrës Sociale autonome Dunja dhe Shkollës së pavarur për Politikë dhe Kritikë në Shkup. Për shumë vite ai ishte një nga redaktorët e revistës filozofike Identities dhe bashkëpunëtor i Le Monde Diplomatique. Ai aktualisht është duke hulumtuar improvizime eksperimentale në imazhe dhe tinguj. Libri i tij i fundit "Politika subjektive" u botua këtë vit dhe aktualisht po shkruan mbi teoritë e seksualitetit. Aktualisht ai organizon festivalin vjetor CRIC për kulturë kritike që mbahet në Shkup.

Viera Cákanyová lindi në 1980 në Bratislavë. Ajo studioi për skenar në Akademinë e Arteve Performuese në Bratislavë dhe filma dokumentarë në Akademinë e Arteve Performuese në Pragë. Në punën e saj ajo kombinon praktikat e dokumentarit, fiksionit dhe animacionit dhe eksploron kufijtë midis këtyre kategorive. Me kolegë të tjerë ajo drejton një kompani prodhimi guca films, me bazë në Sllovaki, e fokusuar në prodhimin e filmave të regjisorëve të rinj në zhvillim nga rajoni. Përveç realizimit të filmave të saj, ajo bashkëpunon edhe në projekte të tjera të pavarura filmike si skenariste dhe montazhere. Filmat e saj të fundit Frem (2019), White on White (2020) dhe Shënime nga Eremoceni (2023) janë prezantuar në shumë festivale ndërkombëtare të filmit dhe kanë fituar disa çmime. Frem dhe Notes nga Eremocene patën premierën e tyre ndërkombëtare në Berlinale në seksionin e Forumit.

Tomás Hudák punon në Institutin e Filmit Sllovak, ku ai është përgjegjës për promovimin ndërkombëtar të kinemasë sllovake me fokus në dokumentarët dhe shërben si Drejtues i Ditëve të Industrisë së Bratislavës në Febiofest IFF. I diplomuar në Histori dhe Teori të Filmit, ai ka punuar për festivale të ndryshme filmi për 13 vitet e fundit në pozicione që përfshijnë programim dhe koordinim programesh. Kritikat dhe intervistat e tij filmike mund të gjenden në revista si Senses of Cinema, Desistfilm ose Dok.revue.

Emilia është një programuese e pavarur e filmave të shkurtër dhe eksperte e industrisë me bazë në Holandë. Që nga viti 2014, ajo ka shërbyer si programuese në Festivalin Short Waves në Poloni, duke marrë përfundimisht si drejtoreshë të festivalit (2019-2022). Aktualisht, Emilia punon si Shef i Industrisë në Kaboom Animation Festival (Holandë) dhe mban pozicione si anëtare e komisionit përzgjedhës për Film Fest Gent (Belgjikë) dhe Festivalin e Filmit të Shkurtër Glasgow (Skoci). Emilia është gjithashtu pjesë e bordit të Leiden Shorts dhe është një bashkëthemeluese dhe anëtare strategjike e bordit të Talking Shorts, një revistë filmike në internet e fokusuar në mediumin e filmit të shkurtër.

Gugi është i vendosur në Xhakartë dhe Berlin, ku aktualisht është emëruar si Drejtor Ekzekutiv për një organizatë fituese të çmimeve: In-Docs, organizata jofitimprurëse pas Docs by the Sea dhe Good Pitch Indonesia. Për më tepër, Dokumentari i Shoqatës së Evropës (DAE) e ka zgjedhur atë në Bordin e tij Ekzekutiv që nga viti 2022. Puna e tij përfshin mentorim/konsultim mbi projektet dhe strategjitë e fushatës me ndikim. Ai gjithashtu ka mbajtur shpesh fjalime rreth praktikave të barabarta ndërkombëtare të bashkëprodhimit. Për më tepër, Gugi ka qenë i përfshirë si programues i ftuar, komision përzgjedhës dhe anëtar jurie për festivale të shumta filmike dhe fonde filmike me reputacion rajonal dhe ndërkombëtar. Ndër to janë: International Documentary Association (IDA), Purin Pictures, DOK Leipzig, Sunny Side of the Doc, Cannes Docs, IDFA Forum, RIDM, CPH:DOX, Points North Institute etj.

Dorian Jespers (lindur në Bruksel, 1993) është i diplomuar nga INSAS dhe KASK, dhe ish-rezident i Le Fresnoy. Veprat e tija ndërthurin absurditetin, intimitetin dhe referenca të ndryshme në një vrull të madh audiovizual. Filmi i tij Sun Dog u frymëzua nga një aventurë e çuditshme në Arktikun Rus. Ai u zgjodh Filmi i Shkurtër i Vitit 2020 nga ‘Short Film Conference’ pasi u kualifikua për Ensors, EAs, Oscars me ç’rast fitoi çmime të mëdha në mbarë botën, duke përfshirë çmimin e tigrit në festivalin e Roterdamit. Puna e tij është shfaqur në institucione të artit si MoMA, ‘The Institute of Contemporary Arts in London’ dhe ‘Garage’ në Moskë. Projekti i tij i ri «Loynes» (2024), i vendosur në Liverpool të shekullit të 19-të, u prezantua në seksionin WiP të festivalit të filmit në Kanë.

Nina Rodríguez ka në një përvojë të gjerë në kurim të festivaleve ndërkombëtare të filmit dhe ngjarjeve të tjera të industrisë. Ajo ka një MA në ‘The Presentation and Preservation of the Moving Image’ nga Universiteti i Amsterdamit në bashkëpunim të ngushtë me ‘EYE Film Archive’. Që nga viti 2006, Nina është Drejtuese e Programimit në ‘Guanajuato International Film Festival’, ku themeloi disa iniciativa për zhvillim të talenteve. Pas bashkëpunimit me Festivalin e Filmit në Abu Dhabi, ajo aktualisht është menaxhere e programit të industrisë në Qumra, një iniciativë e Institutit të Filmit në Doha që ofron mentorim për projekte ndërkombëtare të filmit nga zhvillimi fillestar e deri në pas-produksion. Nina shërbeu gjithashtu si Koordinatore Akademike për Rezidencën Meksikane të Filmit ‘Pueblo Mágico’ dhe ishte një producente ekzekutive në skitë e Viktor Jakovle, Brimstone dhe Glory. Në vitin 2020, ajo themeloi ‘Compartimento Cinematografico’–një kinema të pavarur në San Miguel de Allende.

Filmat me metrazh të shkurtër të Simonit janë shfaqur në shumë festivale dhe kanë marrë çmime si Çmimin Ndërkombëtar të Jurisë në Sundance, Filmin më të Mirë të Shkurtër në BIAs dhe nominime në BAFTA dhe në Akademinë Evropiane. Duke punuar në fiksion, animacion, dokumentar hibrid dhe interaktiv, puna e tij u prezantua në kolektiv në shfaqje të dedikuara retrospektive në mbi 20 festivale ndërkombëtare të filmit. Simon vazhdon të marrë pjesë në shumë festivale si regjisor ose si juri dhe ka mentoruar regjisorë të filmave të shkurtër si në Mbretërinë e Bashkuar dhe jashtë shtetit.

Maike Mia Höhne është një regjisore, kuratore, nënë. Nga viti 2007 deri në vitin 2019 ajo ishte kuratore dhe drejtuese e Berlinale Shorts. Tani ajo është drejtore artistike e Festivalit Kurzfilm në Hamburg. Ajo punon si kuratore dhe anëtare jurie për fondet e filmit dhe festivalet në mbarë botën. Si profesoreshë e filmit, ajo jep mësim në Universitetin e Shkencave të Aplikuara në Evropë në Hamburg. Fokusi i saj kuratorial është te politika, seksi dhe feminizmi.

Sabahet Meta ka një përvojë në menaxhimin e projekteve, udhëheqjen krijuese dhe sipërmarrjen kuptimplotë dhe është përfshirë në mënyrë aktive në menaxhimin kulturor që nga viti 2014. Ai është bashkëthemelues i artistëve Kulturalink me qendër në Bernë, objektivi kryesori është konsideruar si i përdorur artistik. si një transformues dhe mjet për promovimin e mirëkuptimit socio-kulturor dhe edukimin e menduarit kritik. Sabo është drejtor artistik i Festivalit të Filmit Kino Kosova. Si iniciator dhe forca shtysë pas festivalit, Sabo ka krijuar një rol të veçantë dhe me ndikim. Ai ka kuruar një platformë që feston fuqinë e kinemasë për të provokuar mendimin, për të sfiduar perspektivën dhe për të bashkuar komunitetet.

Sanne Jehoul është drejtoreshë e programit të 'Glasgow Short Film Festival,' eventit kryesor të filmit të shkurtër në Skoci, dhe punon në skenën e filmave të shkurtër në agjencinë e shitjeve dhe shpërndarjes së festivaleve ‘Square Eyes’, me qendër në Vjenë. Ajo është në komitetin përzgjedhës të Kurzfilmtage Winterthur 2023, dhe punon në mënyrë të pavarur si kuratore dhe shkrimtare. Që nga vitet '80 Ruggero Calich ka bashkëpunuar me Festivalin e Filmit të Stambollit të organizuar nga Fondacioni i Stambollit për Kulturë dhe Arte si përkthyes jurie, guidë e ftuar dhe moderator. Më vonë kontribuoi si katalogues në të njëjtin festival për të cilin në fakt është këshilltar dokumentarësh. Ai ishte bashkë-kurator për dy edicionet e shfaqjes të dokumentarëve në minifestin art.mov të organizuar nga galeria e artit ‘Trieste Contemporanea’. Ai është gjithashtu këshilltar për ‘Human Rights Documentary Film Days’ të organizuara në qytetin e Izmirit nga ‘ Foundation for Human Rights in Turkey’. Ai është kritik filmi i pavarur që nga viti 2012, që fokusohet kryesisht në dokumentarë nga e gjithë bota që kanë të bëjnë me të drejtat e njeriut. Recensionet e tija, të nënshkruara nën emra të ndryshëm, janë botuar në shumë faqe interneti, gazeta dhe revista në Turqi. Ai është anëtar i ‘SiYAD, the Association of Cinema Writers of Turkey’ dhe anëtar i FIPRESCI. Gjithashtu ka qenë anëtar jurie i FIPRESCI në Festivalin e Filmit të Stambollit, në IDFA, në Zagreb Docs dhe në Visions du Réel.

E lindur në vitin 1987 në Casablanca, Randa Maroufi është diplomuar në Institutin Kombëtar të Arteve të Bukura në Tetouan, Marok dhe në Shkollën e Arteve të Bukura, në Angers, Francë. Ajo gjithashtu fitoi një diplomë nga ‘Le Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains’, Tourcoing, Francë. Randa Maroufi ka qenë Anëtare Artiste e Akademisë së Francës në Madrid në ‘Casa de Velázquez’ në 2017 - 2018. Ekspozitat e saj më të fundit në grup përfshijnë: ‘Biennale de Lyon’, ‘Museo de Reina’ (Sofía), ‘New Museum’ (NY), ‘MA Museum’ (Quebec), ‘Biennale de Dakar’, ‘Sharjah Biennial’, ‘International Film Festival Rotterdam’, ‘African Photography Meeting’, ‘Bamako’, ‘the Marrakech Biennale’, etj. Ajo aktualisht jeton dhe punon në Paris, Francë.

Marlene Edoyan është bashkëdrejtoreshë artistike e ‘RIDM - Rencontres Internationales du Documentaire de Montréal’, dhe programuese për festivalin dhe për forumin e tij të industrisë. Me një prapavijë në studime për Film dhe Media, Marlene ka punuar në industrinë e filmit kanadez si regjisore dhe producente për më shumë se 15 vite. Me një interes të madh në eksplorim të koncepteve që lidhen me gjeografinë e njerëzve dhe marrëdhëniet midis shoqërive dhe hapësirave, Marlene themeloi ‘Fauve Film’ në 2017, për të krijuar dokumentarë kreativë autorial. Filmat e saj eksplorojnë çështje socio-politike duke kombinuar këndvështrime origjinale me pikëpamje të fuqishme të tregimit kinematografik.

Srđan Kovačević ka lindur në Zagreb, Kroaci në vitin 1982. Në vitin 2009 ka marrë diplomë si magjistër në kinematografi nga Akademia e Arteve Dramatike të Universitetit të Zagrebit. Ai ka punuar si kameraman për produksione të ndryshme të pavarura rajonale filmike dhe televizive, si dhe ka xhiruar filma dokumentarë, seriale televizive dhe filma të shkurtër. Filmi i tij ‘Factory to the Workers’ ishte fitues i Konkursit Balkan Dox të DokuFest-it në vitin 2022.

Zeynep ishte drejtuese e ‘Yeni Film Fund of Turkey’ themeluar nga Anadolu Kültür dhe ‘İf Istanbul Independent Films Festival’. Zeynep drejtoi dhe prodhoi dokumentarin Come Rain or Shine (2019) si dhe prodhoi dy dokumentarë të tjerë: ‘Beginnings’ (2013) dhe ‘Impressions of A Summer’ (2020). Zeynep punon si konsulente mbi tregimin në kuptim të gjerë, shkrimin e granteve ndërkombëtare, dhe strategjitë e projektimit dhe të bashkëfinancimit. Ne vitin 2021 Zeynep ishte anëtare e ‘Berlin Artist in Residency’ (AiR) në Programin Nipkow me filmin e saj të parë narrativ ‘When the Sun Comes Out’. Zeynep ka qenë një konsulente e lartë në Shoqatën e Dokumentarëve të Evropës (DAE) që nga themelimi i saj.

Daniella Shireir is the founder and co-editor of Another Gaze, a journal of film and feminisms, and the creator of Another Screen, a free streaming platform that features ephemeral programmes and retrospectives of films by women filmmakers, available with subtitles in multiple languages and contextualised by interviews and new writing. This year, together with co-editor of Another Gaze, Missouri Williams, she will launch Another Gaze’s publishing imprint, Another Gaze Editions. She also works in film production and is a graphic designer, photographer and translator from the French, of texts including My Mother Laughs by Chantal Akerman (Silver Press), which won a PEN prize in 2019, and a forthcoming collection of texts by Marguerite Duras about her cinema.

Joost Daamen is a senior programmer at IDFA. He holds a MA degree in Film Studies from the University of Amsterdam. Since 2005, he has been working for IDFA’s Program department. Over the years, he has contributed to and programmed the main (non-)competition programs and Paradocs program, and he has (co-) curated focus programs.

Niklas Engstrøm helped launch CPH:DOX – Copenhagen Intl. Documentary Film Film Festival -together with former CEO Tine Fischer in 2003, and has since then beenworking on turning the festival’s programme into a relevant, ambitious and exciting take on the world, appealing to both a national audience as well as the international film industry. In 2015, Niklas took on the role as Head of Programme at CPH:DOX and since the summer of 2021 he has been Artistic Director of the Copenhagen FilmFestivals Foundation, including CPH:DOX and the children’s film festival Buster.

John Canciani is a film collector since he’s a teenager. He acquired his first experiences in curating films, when he founded and organised a film club in Winterthur. In 2009 he became member of the selection team and board member at the Swiss Youth Film Festival in Zurich. In 2009 he joined the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur and was, amongst others, Head of Youth Programme, Programmer of the International Competition and Assistant to the Artistic Director. John is also a film curator at Kino Cameo Winterthur, where he advices the programme manager, regularly curates film programmes and moderates film talks. He has a Master in Advanced Studies in Curating from ZHdK and was Editor of the Issue No. 23 of the magazine on-curating “The Future of Short Film”. He is Member of the Swiss and European Film Academy, Board Member at Pro Short and the Short Film Conference.

Maryam Tafakory from Iran is an artist and filmmaker whose textual and filmic collages interweave poetry, documentary, archival and found material. She is based between London and Shiraz. Themes such as poetry, politics, religion and existential explorations provide inspiration for her work. Tafakory’s films and installations have been screened and exhibited at dozens of European film festivals. She was nominated for a Tiger Award and Found Footage Award at the 47th IFFR, Best Short Award at 67th MIFF and she has received several other awards, including Best Short Film at Documenta Madrid, Best Short Film at Festival de Cine Lima Independiente, and twice the Aesthetica Emerging Art Prize UK. In 2019, she was awarded the Flaherty/Colgate Distinguished Global Filmmaker in Residence. Her short Nazarbazi, a world premiere at IFFR 2022 in the Ammodo Tiger Short Competition, explores imaginative proxies through which acts of intimacy can be suggested without being directly portrayed, referencing censorship rules within Iranian cinema.

Tevfik Rada is a researcher based in Prizren. He has a master degree on Sociology with a thesis on ‘the relation between railways and avant-garde cinema in the formation years of Soviet Union’. Rada has conducted several film programs as well as historical and artistic researches in Lumbardhi including ‘Nation Formation’, ‘Kinofiguration’ and ‘Kuhle Vampe’. He is a member and researcher in the publishing collective Pykë-Presje.

Samir Ljuma is acclaimed cinematographer and producer, whose focus is on capturing human behavior, intimate relations and authentic interaction. He’s able to draw multiple layered vivid canvases with his camera and his honest and heartfelt approach towards protagonists. Visible in various successful collaborations with macedonian and international directors like Sergej Georgiev Via Dinarica - the Macedonian adventure, Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov Lake of Apples, with whom he also told the double OSCAR nominee feature documentary Honeyland, which won three main awards on the Sundance Film Festival. Besides this he is founder of the film production company Diverse Film Production. Samir is the winner of the American Society of Cinematographers Award for best Documentary cinematography, IMAGO Award, IDA Award, Cinema Eye Honors Award, Sundance Special Jury Award for Best Cinematography.

Frida Mårtensson is a producer and runs the Stockholm-based production company Verket Produktion. Most recently she produced Successful Thawing of Mr Moro and The Night Train directed by Jerry Carlsson. Successful Thawing of Mr Moro had its international premiere at TIFF 2021. Her first short as producer, Shadow Animals by Jerry Carlsson, has screened at over 100 film festivals around the world and won awards at among others Clermont-Ferrand and Palm Springs Short Fest. Before starting at Verket Frida was Associate Producer at Garagefilm International, working on a number of critically acclaimed and award-winning features like Call Girl by Mikael Marcimain, Something Must Break by Ester Martin Bergsmark, Amateurs by Gabriela Pichler and The Heart by Fanni Metelius. Frida is currently in post production with The Year I Started Masturbating by Erika Wasserman at production company Gimme a break, and in development with among others the feature films Fires by Jerry Carlsson and Ugly by Johanna Pyykkö at Verket Produktion.

Linn Löffler (born 1983 in East Berlin) is a filmmaker, musician and has been active in the field of film production and cultural management since 2007. In addition she is a founding member of the independent film collective LaborBerlin. She has been working for Berlinale Shorts for 10 years, since 2019 as the programme coordinator of the section.

Rina Kika is a human rights lawyer and researcher. She successfully represented the case of Blert Morina, one of the first trans people to seek legal gender recognition in Kosovo. In 2020, she was awarded a Fellowship from Duke Law School and worked with Amnesty International, with whom she continues to closely collaborate. She works in different human rights issues with a strong focus on women’s rights, LGBTIQ+ rights and the rights of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian. Rina holds two master’s degrees, from the University of Zurich in Switzerland and Duke University in the U.S.

Heleen Gerritsen (The Netherlands, 1978) studied Slavonic Languages and Economics in Amsterdam and St. Petersburg. She moved to Germany in 2003 where she completed a course in film production and started freelancing as a documentary producer for various companies and broadcasters. Heleen curated film programs and produced award-winning experimental short films. In 2009 Heleen produced her first feature length documentary and set up her own production company. From 2014 to 2016 she was festival director of the European Documentary Film Festival dokumentART in Neubrandenburg. Since October 2017 Heleen is at the helm of goEast –Festival of Central and Eastern European Film which is organized by the German Film Institute (DFF). She is a founding member of the Documentary Association of Europe and a member of the European Film Academy.

Pieter Paul Mortier is one of the co-founders and the current artistic and financial director of Courtisane, a platform for film and audiovisual arts that organizes a yearly festival in Ghent (Belgium), many programs and screenings throughout the year and publishes Cahiers on a regular basis (www.courtisane.be). He studied Audiovisual Arts / experimental film & video (Sint-Lukas Brussels) and Media (Sandberg Institute Amsterdam). From 2005 to 2010 he taught a course Screenplay non-fiction at Sint-Lukas Brussels and is currently a teacher at the Media Arts department of KASK / School of Arts in Ghent. From 2005 to 2013 and in 2019 he worked as a curator for visual arts, media & sound art at STUK arts center in Leuven.

Rachel Caplan is a creative producer working at the intersection of Arts and Environment. In 2010, she created the San Francisco Green Film Festival and over ten years grew the festival into one of the largest and most influential events of its kind globally. Before this, Rachel held positions with the Edinburgh, London, and San Francisco Film Festivals, and was Festival Director of the International Ocean Film Festival, North America’s largest marine film showcase. She was guest curator for the 1st London Green Film Festival; is a guest lecturer on Environmental Communications at UC Berkeley; and is on the Green Film Network ‘s Special Projects Committee. In 2021, she produced Scotland’s Climate Festival, a nationwide events programme funded by the Scottish Government to engage the public in COP26.

Matthieu Darras designs and leads several programs of film/talent development and consultancy that are active worldwide: the First Cut Lab, the Pop Up Film Residency, and the Full Circle Lab. Previously, he founded and directed the European network NISI MASA, wrote for the magazine Positif, and acted as artistic director of the TorinoFilmLab. He also worked as a programmer and advisor for Cannes, San Sebastian, and Venice film festivals.

Jelena Maksimović graduated in Film editing from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. She has been teaching at the Faculty for Media and Communication in Belgrade, Digital Arts Department, since 2015. As an editor she worked on films such as The Load (2018), You Have the Night (2018), Celts (2021), and Landscapes of Resistance (2021) which screened in Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Locarno, Rotterdam, Toronto, and many others. She has directed two short and two feature films: Taurunum Boy (2018) and Homelands (2020). In addition to the film, she has achieved numerous collaborations in video works, spatial installations, and theatre performances.

Diana El Jeiroudi is a documentary filmmaker, editor and screenwriter whose films encapsulate socio-political tensions and contradictions and extend well over time. She started as a filmmaker at age 25 and is best known for her recent feature Republic of Silence (La Biennale di Venezia 2021). Over the years, Diana has supported many careers in cinema and tutored talents through professional film workshops as a long-term supporter of narrative documentary cinema. Her efforts in supporting and advancing the documentary community and culture, notably through establishing DOX BOX in Syria as the most prominent documentary film festival and campus in the region, and then as the Berlin-based documentary film support association, has earned her recognition. She’s a member of several film academies and professional networks and serves repeatedly on film funds committees and festivals juries, most notably the Cannes Film Festival Golden Eye Documentary Award.

Edhem Fočo was born in 1972 in Sarajevo. He studied in Sarajevo and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.He had a business career in Malaysia and has gained experience in various business sectors such as Consultancy, Oil & Gas, International Trade, Information Technology and Investments, as well as media. He is credited as the initiator of Al Jazeera’s entry into Balkans and has been a director of Al Jazeera Network in Sarajevo since 2010. In 2018, together with his colleagues, he has initiated AJB DOC, Al Jazeera Balkans International Documentary Film Festival, the most prominent festival of documentary films in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Wim Vanacker, after studying psychology in Belgium, Wim Vanacker moved to Dublin to work as a psychologist in the field of drug addiction. Three years later, he picked up studying again at EICAR where he made two shorts. After graduating, he discovered NISI MASA –European Network of Young Cinema where he became the Head of the Script Department and the Project manager of the MEDIA funded project, European Short Pitch. For the last five years, he’s been a member of the Selection Committee for the Official Short Film Competition of the Cannes Film Festival. Furthermore, he works as an Editorial Consultant for the First Cut Lab and he’s responsible for the Worksin-Progress in the context of the Red Sea International Film Festival. On the side, he works as a script consultant, creative advisor, programmer, curator and tutor for many workshops, film festivals and projects in development

Yll Uka is a Producer with an ability to envision the genesis of a creative idea and manage conceptual projects successfully from beginning to end. Resourceful and innovative, producing inspiring works with little resources and small budgets. Among his previous credits is HIVE who became the first film in Sundance history to win all three main awards in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition and Oscars2022 shortlist for Best International Feature.

Carka Vulpiani (b. 1989 - Adriatic coast) lives in Italy and Ireland. Alongside degrees in Cultural Studies and in Documentary Practice in Milan she started her career as a festival programmer and co-artistic director at Milano Film Festival. Producer for the Dubliner animation studio and maps and plans, she works as Sales Agent for Short Films for Varicoloured Holistic Film Agency and is advisor of programmes for TSFM and Venice International Film Festival - Orizzonti Short Film Competition.

Erenik Beqiri studied at the Academy of Arts, Tirana where he graduated with a Master degree in Film Directing. His last short film The Van, was part of the official competition in 72’s editions of Cannes Film Festival and was Oscar shortlisted in 2021. He’s currently developing his first feature film projects, which was part of Cinefondation and Torino Film Lab.

Ivan Ramljak is a film critic, director and independent curator. Since 2013, he has been curating a short film program called Kratki utorak (‘Short Tuesday’) at cinema Tuškanac in Zagreb. In 2016, he became the artistic director of Tabor Film Festival in Veliki Tabor. So far, he has directed nine short, one medium and one feature length films, mostly documentaries. His films were shown on more than 80 international festivals all over the world and won several awards.

Norika Sefa is a Kosovo born filmmaker. Her films are heterogeneous in style, merging fiction and documentary, pieces that create atmosphere rather than stick to a conventional narrative. Sefa directed the short Desde Arriba (2020) shot under the guidance of Werner Herzog and Kiss me, now (2020), both hybrid documentaries. Looking for Venera (2021) is her first feature film, premiered at IFF Rotterdam, winning the Special Jury Award in the Tiger Competition. The invitations already brought Norika across different prestigious arts and cultural institutions, to talk about her cinematic approach. Norika has recently been invited to join the European Film Academy. She is now developing her next feature film.

Marko Stojiljković is a freelance film critic and a regular contributor to various media in Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Serbia, as well as to international outlets like Cineuropa and Asian Movie Pulse. He is a co-founder of Ubiquarian, an international English language film criticism platform dedicated to documentaries, experimental and short films.

Abby Sun is an artist, film programmer, and researcher at the MIT Open Documentary Lab, where she is a graduate student in Comparative Media Studies and edits Immerse. Most recently, Abby being the Curator of the DocYard, has co-curated My Sight is Lined with Visions: 1990s Asian American Film & Video with Keisha Knight. Expanding on the latter’s programmatic urges, Abby and Keisha launched Line of Sight, a suite of artist development activities, in 2021. Abby has bylines in Film Comment, Filmmaker Magazine, Film Quarterly, Hyperallergic, and other publications, has reviewed applications for BGDM, NEA, SFFILM, LEF Foundation, Sundance Catalyst, as well as spoken on and facilitated panels at TIFF, NYFF, and other film festivals.

Gürcan Keltek studied film at Dokuz Eylül University before directing several shorts including Overtime (2012), screened at Visions Du Réel. His medium-length film Colony (2015) was screened at FIDMarseille. His first feature film Meteorlar (2017) won more than twenty awards including First Feature Film Award and Boccolino d’Oro Film Critics’ Award at Locarno Film Festival. It was screened at many international film festivals including Rotterdam, BAFICI, Viennale, Bordeaux, Fajr, Hong Kong and the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Art of the Real. Gulyabani (2018) premiered at Signs of Life of Locarno Festival and was screened at Tate Modern, Reykjavik, Rotterdam and Viennale. His next feature film project New Dawn Fades was selected to L’Atelier of Cannes Film Festival in 2019.

In 2010 he founded the London based production company Nakba FilmWorks. Fleifel’s critically acclaimed debut, A WORLD NOT OURS, received over 30 awards, including the Berlinale Peace Prize, the Edinburgh, Yamagata and DOC:NYC Grand Jury Prizes. In 2016 Fleifel won a Silver Bear for A MAN RETURNED. His follow up, A DROWNING MAN, was in the Official Competition at Cannes and nominated for a BAFTA. I SIGNED THE PETITION won Best Documentary Short at IDFA and was nominated for the 2018 European Film Awards.

He has worked in films that have won international awards such as ‘In Between’ directed by Samir Karahoda, which had its world premiere at the Berlinale, and ‘Hive’ directed by Blerta Basholli, a three-time winner at the prestigious ‘Sundance Festival’. Saraci’s also worked on Karahoda’s ‘Displaced’, which was part of the official competition in the short film category at the Cannes Film Festival. He is currently completing a master’s degree in film editing at the ‘FAMU’ Academy in Prague, Czech Republic.

Ruken Tekeş is an international human rights expert who worked for several years for United Nations, as well as lectured at Koç University. She is a self-made filmmaker, who started scriptwriting and directing on social, political and environmental issues in 2015. Her multi-award-winning first fiction short HEVÊRK / THE CIRCLE has participated to over two hundred festivals worldwide and was nominated for 30th European Film Awards – European Short Film 2017. Her feature documentary debut AETHER premiered in International Competition of Visions du Réel 2019, received the Golden Orange Jury Prize at Antalya FF, and continues screening and receiving awards. Tekeş is a member of the European Film Academy.

Tom Grimshaw is a freelance film programmer and curator currently living in Berlin. He graduated from the University of Sussex in 2008 with a BA in Film Studies and then went onto gain an MA in Documentary Filmmaking from the London College of Communication. Ass. Prof. Nita Luci is a feminist scholar. She teaches at the University of Prishtina where she chairs the Department of Anthropology. Her scholarship focuses on the intersection of nationalist cultural politics, manhood, memory, and political movements. She co-founded the University Program for Gender Studies - UP, and has received numerous research grants, fellowships, and led teaching/research projects. She has also worked with participatory and contemporary art initiatives, recently as investigator on the UKAHRC/GCRF Changing the Story project, exploring ways in which artists, arts organizations, and initiatives, can engage young people on civic education, heritage, and social justice.

Wouter Jansen is the owner of the sales and festival distribution company ‘Square Eyes’, which represents bold, author-driven features and shorts, and collaborates closely with the filmmakers to devise bespoke festival distribution and sales strategies. This has resulted in a small catalogue of films premiering at prestigious festivals and winning multiple awards over the last few years at Cannes, TIFF, Berlin, Locarno and Clermont-Ferrand. Wouter has been lecturing at schools like Le Fresnoy, HEAD Geneva and Netherlands Film Academy as well as moderating and leading workshops at festivals like IDFA, Locarno, True/False, Winterthur, VIS Vienna Shorts and others. He is a Berlinale Talents alumni.

Ziad Kalthoum is a Syrian filmmaker currently living in Berlin. In his first documentary OH MY HEART he portrayed a group of Kurdish women who have chosen to live in a society without men. The film was banned from screening in Syria due to political reasons. In 2012, during the outbreak of the Syrian revolution, he began working on his first feature film THE IMMORTAL SERGEANT while serving a compulsory military service. The film had its premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in 2014, while in 2015, he won the BBC Arabic Festival in the ‘Best Feature Documentary’ category. Refusing to fight his own people, he deserted from the Syrian Army in 2013 and fled to Beirut where he started to work on TASTE OF CEMENT. The film has been traveling to festivals around the world and has won various awards, Golden Sesterce for Best Feature Documentary at Visions du Réel being one of them.

Ahmet Gürata is an academic, film critic and festival curator. Currently, he is a senior visiting scholar at Stockholm University Institute for Turkish Studies (SUITS). He has published a research on the history of Turkish cinema, reception, remakes and documentary in anthologies and journals. His current research includes projects on archive and comparative film studies. He also works as a programmer for the Antalya Film Festival and Festival on Wheels.

Brigid O’Shea started her career at the Berlin International Film Festival, working with various departments including Berlinale Talents, Berlinale Co-Production Market and the EFM. She started working for DOK Leipzig, first as the coordinator of the DOK Industry Programme in 2010 and was then appointed to Head of DOK Industry in late 2014. She left this post in 2021 to establish the Documentary Association of Europe, to usher in a new generation of professionals and advocate on a pan-European level for documentary filmmakers. Currently she serves on the advisory boards of B2B Doc and DMZ Doc.

Jeton Jagxhiu is a graphic artist, manager and co-founder of “Punetori Grafike”, a Prizren based advertisement studio and printing outlet. Among many other things, Jeton writes on food, culture, identity and is also an environmental and political activist.

London-born Claire Simon, started her career by directing independent short films. After discovering the practice of direct cinema with the Ateliers Varan, she then made several documentaries such as Coûte que coûte and Récréations , which garnered multiple awards. Afterwards, she wrote and directed three feature fiction films (Sinon oui, Ça brûle and Les Bureaux de dieu), which were presented in the Director’s Fortnight at Cannes. While many of her films such as Nord, Le Bois Dont les Rêves Sont Faits, Le Concours and Young Solitude having had their premieres in prestigious film festivals, she will continue her ‘premiere’ tradition with her last feature fiction “I want to talk about Duras“, at San Sebastian 2021.

Dea Gjinovci is a Swiss-Albanian director-producer based between Paris and Geneva. She is a 2019 Sundance Talent Forum alum and Film Independent Fellow. Her award-winning documentary short ‘Sans le Kosovo’ won Best National Film at DokuFest in 2017, while her debut feature-length documentary ‘Wake Up on Mars’ received support from the Sundance Film Institute and Ford Foundation/JustFilms, as well as won the “Perspectives d’un doc” pitch award at Visions du Réel 2018. It premiered virtually at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival and Visions du Réel in Switzerland. Gjinovci was awarded the “Best New Talent” mention at Biografilm Festival 2020 and Zagrebdox 2021, and Wake Up on Mars was nominated for the prestigious “Prix de Soleure” and “Opera Prima” award at Solothurner Tage 2021.

Svetla Turnin is the co-founder, Executive Director and Head of Distribution of Cinema Politica, a Canadian-based exhibition and distribution network for political documentary around the world, and the online streaming platform CP On Demand. In 2016 she co-founded Cinema Politica Productions, which is dedicated to supporting the work of emerging women and queer filmmakers, and is currently producing AGENT DYNAMO by Bulgarian-Canadian director Lea Marinova. Svetla writes and publishes about documentary activism, women in documentary, and film festivals. She is currently a guest editor for the upcoming edition on Cinema and Resistance for the Bulgarian independent left publication Dversia. Since 2016 she’s been curating the documentary competition at Sofia International Film Festival and is a graduate of EURODOC 2018.

Alessandro Stellino (1973), film critic and festival programmer, is the artistic director of Festival dei Popoli and of IsReal - Festival di Cinema del Reale. He teaches film courses at the Civica Scuola di Cinema in Milano, NABA Milano and CISA Locarno. He founded the online film quarterly Filmidee (www. filmidee.it).

Melis Behlil is an Associate Professor of Cinema Studies and Chair of Radio, Television and Cinema Department at Kadir Has University in Istanbul, Turkey. She has been a Visiting Scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Research Associate at Stockholm University, and a founding member of European Network for Cinema and Media Studies (NECS). In addition to teaching and other academic duties, she writes film reviews for various publications, co-hosts a weekly radio show, and is a member of the Turkish Film Critics Association and FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics).

Marija Zidar is a Slovenian filmmaker. Her award-winning documentary Reconciliation premiered at CPH:DOX, and was selected for IDFA Best of Fests, Sydney FF, Sarajevo FF and ZINEBI, among others. The awards include Best Balkan Film at DokuFest Prizren, Best Female Director at Sofia DocuMental, and Best Documentary at the Festival of Slovenian Film. Her background is in Journalism (BA in Journalism; BA in English Language and Literature) and she has a PhD in Sociology at the University of Ljubljana. She is passionate about presenting thoroughly investigated social issue stories.
