Në vitin 1962, një grup i grave të reja ishin pjesë e kryetitujve në Greqi për shkak të ikjes për t'ju bashkuar manastirit. Secilën herë ato kapeshin dhe dërgoheshin prapa te familjet e tyre, por ato vazhduan përpjekjet derisa ia arritën qëllimit. Të painteresuara për lutje tërë ditës, ato themeluan një strehimore, duke ofruar dashuri familjare për fëmijët e braktisur dhe të abuzuar. Gjysmë shekulli më pas, themelueset e gjalla ende drejtojnë Fshatin e Fëmijëve Lyrio, pa ndihmën e kishës apo shtetit, duke rritur fëmijët pa lidhje martesore.

Born in New York to Greek parents, she moved to Athens in 2003. Upon finishing NYU film school she worked on features and commercials until she met and worked for David and Albert Maysles and decided to concentrate exclusively on documentaries. Her work has aired in TV networks in the US, Greece, Finland and Korea. “Who’s on First? won best documentary in 2007 at the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival. She has taught at Queens College and was on the board of directors of the Greek Film Archive.
