In 1988-1989 filmmaker Harutyun Khachatryan started his painful exploration of alienation and rootlessness among Armenian exiles. Since then he has shot a huge archive depicting the developments of those days and concentrated on the personal life stories of several Armenian artists to be discovered in 5 documentaries. This is the first part. The documentary video footage starts with l988.
Harutyun Khachatryan (born 1955, Akhalkalaki, Georgia), is a director, producer, scriptwriter, and Honored Artist of RA. Since 2006, Khachatryan is a voting member of European Film Academy, Director of Golden Apricot FCD, and since 2004 the Co-founder and the General Director of Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival. Khachatryan was awarded with the Prince Klaus Award in 2007. In 2008, he became a Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the Ministry of Culture of France.
