Yagub is a death profiteer. The local carpenter of a small town in Azerbaijan, Yagub’s main business is the construction of coffins. Yagub lives alone with his mentally impaired son Musa, who tries to help his father in any way he can, despite his lack of motor skills. They live a solitary life. Because of his sons disability, Yagub is treated in a different light when Musa in presence of others. Yagub blames Musa for his position in life and punishes him whenever Musa’s disability manifests itself. One day Musa becomes terribly ill. The town doctor informs Yagub that Musa does not have long to live…
Elmar Imanov was born in 1985 in Azerbaijan and has been living in Germany since 1998. After a six-month internship at Freedonia Filmproduktion, he started studying Directing in 2006 at the IFS international film school in Cologne.
