Bashkim should get divorced from his German wife Julia and finally marries an Albanian woman. It is the last wish of his father, who is dying in Kosovo. An Albanian who is not married to an Albanian woman, is lost. For Bashkim an internal struggle begins. He is connected to Julia through 14 years of marriage and their son Luan. As Bashkim is unable to take responsibility for his life, his son takes the matter into his own hands and travels to Kosovo. The film is about the inner conflict of cultures, of the difference between modernity and tradition, of expectations and the own free will.
Kristine Nrecaj was born in 1975 in Neu-Ulm and has Albanian roots. After high school she studied theater - and film studies at the Freie Universität Berlin. In 2003, she worked at Cine+ for Ciro Cappellari and Sebastian Ballhaus in the script development department. That same year she produced the documentary film „Kosovo” with her brother Alfred Nrecaj, which received a theatrical release in the Dokument Cinema in Berlin. Since 2004 she does work with Alfred Nrecaj (NBB Studio GmbH) and produces imagemovies for Zeiss, Nike, Starbucks etcetera. In 2007 she created as a writer and director for ARD / Polylux the TV report „A man runs through the desert. “ In 2010 she graduated from the screenwriter school Wolfgang Pfeiffer.
