Hamdi, a young Gazan construction worker lost nearly his entire family to a stray Israeli missile. After the disaster, Hamdi arrived in Israel so that his daughter Maria, a vivacious, charming young girl, who was mortally injured in the attack, could receive the medical care she couldn’t receive in Gaza. “Hamdi and Maria” takes you beyond the headlines of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Timor Britva, born in Moldavia. Emigrated to Israel in 1990. Even during his school years he was already working for youth programmes at a local TV station. From 1998 to 1999 he was an assistant in a nursery school and travelled around the USA. From 1999 to 2002 he did his compulsory military service as a medical orderly in a combat unit. From 2003 to 2007 he studied at the Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem. He participated in various social projects with children and teenagers and in multicultural exchange programmes. He is currently working with a photography artist in a professional studio.
