The story of a Palestinian boy and his father on their journey home to the city of Nazareth. What should be a simple journey is instead beset by the tensions of the politically charged atmosphere and the militarized reality, each serving as a foil to enhance the struggle of a father bringing up his strong willed son.
Palestinian filmmaker Sameh Zoabi did not grow up going to the movies. In his small village of Iksal near Nazareth, theatres had closed long before his childhood. Instead, as Zoabi remembers, “there was a lot of Bruce Lee and Rambo on video, and westerns on television,” as well as the movie fan books his sisters owned.
