Synopsis

If your mother is a strawberry and your father is a Pineapple – which fruit does that make you? And where is your home? To answer these questions, FRU-FRU goes on a sometimes funny and sometimes sad surrealistic journey through own life.

Director Biography

Anastasija Kretzschmar. I was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and have been interested in art and film for almost 25 years. As a little girl, I spent a lot of my time watching Hayao Miyazaki’s movies and listening to the stories my mother told me on our regular museum visits. Now I have become a storyteller and a professional animator myself. To make this dream come true, I migrated to Germany all by my own at the age of 19 and studied animation. The experiences I gained in two countries and two cultures became a huge impact on my art today.
