Nine Easy Dances

Synopsis

A filmmaker and former dancer returns to her family home to make a film with her parents, but when they fail to live up to unrealistic expectations, and when her mother's cancer metastasizes, she hires professional dancers to play them.

Director Biography

Nora Rosenthal is a writer and filmmaker. Her first short film Family Death Trip (2018), premiered at POP Montreal, and her work as the producer on the official music video for Basia Bulat’s “Your Girl” was recognized in the Prism Prize Top 20 for Best Canadian Music Videos in 2020. Nora was selected for the 2022 Talent Lab at the RIDM in Montreal, and is one of the artists in this year’s RBC Emerging Artist Network at the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto.
