Synopsis

While attending her sister's wedding in India, Anita is pushed to question whether her life in America is any better than those in her hometown

Director Biography

Born and raised in India, Sushma is a writer/director based in New York City. She ran her own production company for several years, making commissioned documentaries and commercials before switching to narrative fiction. Her latest short film ANITA will premiere at the 77th Venice International Film Festival Orizzonti Competition this September. Her feature project, SALT (based on the short), is a recipient of the SFFilm Westridge Screenwriting Grant and was recently selected for the Torino NEXT Development Lab. The project was also invited to the NFDC International Co-Production Market in India. in 2019. Sush has an MFA in Screenwriting and Directing from Columbia University and works as a Screenwriting Advisor for Sundance Co//ab.
