Përshkrimi

LordanZafranović (1944), today a veteran of professional film, started his carier in Split Cine-club, where he began to create a characteristic film world that critic RankoMunitić once appropriately named a “sunny inferno”. It was inhabited by alienated people and absurdity, sometimes sadistically cruel and grotesquely leering even when viewed through a documentary lens. People (Passing) II, one of his earliest documentary shorts. It was filmed in the old town of Split. The concept of the film, shot in the old town of Split, can be described as an ultimate dynamic of visual and acoustic rhythm with a texture which consists of people passing, standing, sitting, laying, swinging, filmed by static, mobile, at times intrusive, but always with a highly suggestive camera. It is particularly important Zafranović‘s work, because here he more intensively than ever insisted on the grotesque bringing in an element of ominousness that will later - along with an addition of erotic elements, became crucial mark of his work.
