On August 5th, the Sonar stage of Prizren Fortress turns into a collective space of contemplation, as Berlin-based musician Ibadet Ramadani returns to Kosovo to present her folk-inflected self-titled solo debut album. In a soothing and transportive experience, Ramadani’s pure songwriting provides the perfect opportunity to sway, unwind, and lose yourself to the music, her lush vocals accompanied by her band’s jazz-dappled melodies.
With songwriting as sincere as her voice is evocative, Berlin-based Ibadet Ramadani, who spent much of her childhood in Kosovo, knows how to leave her audiences in rapture. After studying art in New York and music at the Amsterdam Conservatory, she founded the acclaimed indie band Super700, which disbanded in 2013. Ten years later, she returns to the spotlight with her hotly awaited solo debut album, ‘Ibadet Ramadani’, its folk-inspired songs spontaneously written in the solitude of a forest cabin. Through unblemished, assured songwriting, slick instrumentation that flirts with Americana, and Ramadani’s stirring, remarkable vocals, she conjures up an everlasting reverie—a state of joyous, untouched bliss. Her songs are a testament to hope, love and longing, and an invitation to embrace the unknown. Bolstered by the backing of a blues-inspired band, she returns to Kosovo to deliver a profound emotional rendition of this stunning, timeless album.
The regular ticket price for this performance is €10; however, with a Procredit bank account/card, you can purchase the ticket for only €7.
