Actress (Darren J. Cunningham) is a pioneer in electronic composition, known for his unique sound since his 2010 debut "Splazsh." His tenth album in 2024 introduces a new kosmische mood for Smalltown Supersound. "Statik," featuring art by Ola Rindal, continues his innovative work.

Growing up in the Midlands, a football injury shifted his focus to music. Influenced by Detroit techno, he founded Werk Discs and released his debut "Hazyville." His 2010 album "Splazsh" was critically acclaimed, and his third album "R.I.P." marked a shift towards classical sounds.

Actress has collaborated widely, including with Steve Reich and the London Contemporary Orchestra. His 2018 project, Young Paint, used AI to create music. His 2020 album "Karma & Desire" featured prominent artists, and his latest album "LXXXVIII" explores game theory and chess. Actress remains a profound influence in electronic music.
