Ceylan Özgün Özçelik (1980) is an Istanbul-based filmmaker who studied law at Marmara University, but never practiced. Between 2003-2015, she produced and hosted culture-art shows for radio and television. Her movie reviews were published in print and online media for fourteen years. After having made three short films Ceylan’s debut feature as a writer and director KAYGI/INFLAME had its world premiere at the 67th Berlinale’s Panorama Special in 2017. INFLAME won the Gamechanger Award at SXSW and has screened at a further 40 festivals worldwide. Ceylan is currently working on her new project Witch Trilogy, which is formed by a short fiction, a feature documentary and a feature fiction. She was an artist-in-residence at Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg in 2018 and an SFFILM screenwriting grantee for 2019 with her new project.
