Synopsis

What happens to a family long after a war is over? Can one ensure that their children don’t have to carry their burden? In this very personal documentary Lidija Zelovic makes an inner journey through her memories, places and people she loves. Meanwhile she tries to leave her past behind her. During the making of this film Zelovic finds that the real war is raging within people. Even inside herself.

Directors' Biography

Lidija Zelović grew up in Sarajevo and fled from the Balkan civil war with her family in the early 1990s to the Netherlands. Later, she reported as a TV journalist from her home country – and is now going back again. What awaits her 20 years on is a war that is still going on in the minds of the people.
