The story of 15-year-old Kaylee who lives in a caravan park with her father. Ostracised by the community around her, the motherless Kaylee finds daily solace with the wild horses in the local marshland. In this at times challenging portrait, the resilient Kaylee’s encounter with an enigmatic stranger compels her to re-evaluate her future.
After gaining experience as an assistant director with Milcho Manchevski on the Oscar nominated film ‘Before the Rain’ Piers went on to work with Peter Kosminsky and alongside one of the UK’s leading directors, Michael Winterbottom. This solid foundation proved to be invaluable for Piers as he began his career as a director. He has also directed short films for both the cinema and art world, most notably ‘Surface’ with Chloë Sevigny which was an installation at the Musée du Louvre, Paris. In 2005, Piers started up his own production company, Hector Films from which he completed the short film Waverley. Piers is presently developing a 90 minute documentary and is writing his first feature script.
