In rural Iceland, wresting is one village’s favourite macho sport. But for Elnar and Denni, it takes on a far more personal significance. Enjoy this most original and delightfully quirky love story.
Grimur Hakonarson graduated from the Film and TV School (FAMU) in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2004. His graduate film, Slavek the Shit, was selected for the Cinéfondation section of the Cannes International Film Festival in 2005 and won 10 prizes in festivals around the world. His documentaries about an unemployed musician, Vardi Goes on Tour (2000) and Vardi Goes Europe (2002), are his most popular work among the Icelandic public. Together with Runar Runarssson, Hakonarson also made the first Icelandic science-fiction film, Oiko Logos (2000).
