DokuFest has teamed up with UN Kosovo Team, UNICEF Kosovo Programme and IPKO Foundation to bring “Visioning the 2045” Advocacy for Change PODIUM as part of UN75 global dialogue initiative.
During the Podium experience, planned to be held during the 19th edition of DokuFest, young people will learn to find ways to raise awareness about issues that matter to them and their community and learn how to collaborate with duty bearers to push issues that concern them into their agendas.
Podium: Advocacy for Change workshop teaches adolescents and youth of the most marginalized groups in Kosovo how to advocate for the needs and rights of their communities. It is an initiative designed to improve the resilience of adolescents and youth by increasing the knowledge of their rights, improving their awareness on the power of social change and advocacy; and cultivating campaign management and advocacy tactics – all while improving confidence and empowerment.
What is the initiative of UN75?
Launched on January 1, 2020, the UN75 initiative is the largest, and most comprehensive discussion on the role of global cooperation in building a better future for all. This initiative will spark discussions in the United Nations throughout 2020 in various countries around the world. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were approved by all United States member states in 2015 as a universal call for action to end poverty, protect the planet, and for ensuring that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. The main priorities of the UN75 initiative, which you should consider when submitting your problem to the application, are as follows:
