Traces follows Iryna Dowhan as she documents the stories of women affected by war and violence. Through survivors’ testimonies, the film creates a space for healing, solidarity and hope. Avoiding direct depictions of violence, it focuses on the visible and hidden traces carried by six women, exploring resilience, courage and mutual support in the aftermath of conflict.
Directors' Biography
Alisa Kovalenko is an award-winning Ukrainian filmmaker and human rights advocate, known for We Will Not Fade Away and My Dear Theo.
Kyiv-trained filmmaker and screenwriter, co-writer of Evge (Cannes 2019), supporting war-affected youth through art therapy.
