The German Government refuses to pay reparations for its occupation of Namibia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and for the genocide of the indigenous population. Instead, it proposes development cooperation programs that exude disgusting neocolonialism and terrible racism under an air of solidarity - an obvious thing for everyone, except for German officials and nostalgic tourists.
Directors' Biography
Jonas Spriestersbach initially studied visual coommunication in Kassel, before going on to study cinematography at the HFF Munich. Following his graduation film TIERE (DOK.fest 2019), MEANWHILE IN NAMIBIA marks his directorial debut.
