Naoise Mac Cathmhaoil at DokuFest

We are delighted to welcome Naoise to DokuFest for the screening of acclaimed documentary Celtic Utopia, a vital vocal anchor representing the purest roots of the traditional Sean-nós genre, as well as for a singing gig on August 9 at 19:45 at Kolektiv, a creative hub for music, culture, and community in Prizren.

Naoise Mac Cathmhaoil is a prominent figure among the new generation of traditional Irish artists. He actively bridges the gap between ancient oral folk music, professional theater, and modern media. A well renowned Sean-Nós singer from Ardara in the Gaeltacht region of South West Donegal, Naoise has had tremendous success across both regional and national singing competitions, including winning the prestigious Corn Áine Eoghain Éamainn at the Oireachtas twice in the youth categories. He followed this with a major win at the 2025 Corn Cuimhneacháin Éamoinn Ghráinne.
