As young political prisoners, these women found ways to communicate with each other through secret messages, rhythmic knocks, and whispered words despite brutal conditions in a Yugoslav woman prison. They recall the day their Afërdita was violently taken away for singing about freedom.
Director's short bio:
Ana Morina is a documentary filmmaker and researcher based in Prishtina. She works with Oral History Kosovo, where she documents and archives testimonies. Originally from Kosovo and raised in Croatia, she began making films as a teenager through the youth collective Videoaktivisti. She studied Film and TV Production at the Cambridge School of Creative Industries and later worked in the film industry. Her current practice focuses on oral history, memory, culture, and mythology, exploring how personal and cultural narratives are preserved, transformed, and reimagined through research and storytelling.

Founded in 2020, Flammorum began as a freelance initiative with the vision of creating Kosovo’s first animated film studio. As film projects continued to grow, so did the team, each artist contributing their own unique perspective. Today, Flammorum is a strong, women-led team of four, collaborating with a network of international creatives. This makes Flammorum a perfect fit for Who Is Singing?, a film that echoes our values of storytelling with depth, courage, and authenticity. Their work has won wards at DokuFest, AniBar and Tirana IFF.
