I STILL HAVEN’T CRIED
Director: Flaka Kokolli
Country: Kosovo
Genre: Animation
Estimated runtime: 8'
Total estimated budget: 90,000 Euros
Looking for: Producer/Co-producer; Funding; Technical Collaboration; Distribution & Sales; Post-Production Services;
Synopsis:
In “I still haven't cried”, two stories happen simultaneously.
One is in the conversation of two girls as they try to find out why Nata, whose father just died, hasn’t been able to cry yet. And the other one is the framing and sound.
Nata and her friend Dita talk in detail about their feelings regarding grief and pain. They also talk about the guilt that comes with the relief you feel after someone who has been sick for so long passes away. They talk about their complicated feelings about their parents and everything that made them the way they are.
On the other hand, we as the audience are forced to be in the perspective of the pervert and whether we want to listen and focus on the girls or not, we are instead focused on their private parts, their tits, asses. The framing switches from wide to square, making it impossible to look elsewhere. Alongside the change in framing, we hear moans and masturbation sounds that only grow louder, making us miss parts of their conversation.
