In a time of burnout, violence, and overwhelming injustice, some artists still choose to film: stubbornly, vulnerably, and with purpose. This intimate conversation brings together filmmakers who use their work as resistance: against silence, against apathy, against forgetting. What drives them to keep creating in the face of despair?
Moderated by Dea Gjinovci, the panel features Roisin Agnew is an Italian-Irish filmmaker and researcher based in London.; Alisa Kovalenko, known for her powerful frontline portraits of war and resilience; and Sebastián González Mendez, whose raw storytelling captures the realities of displacement; together embodying the panel’s spirit: cinema as an act of resistance against silence, apathy, and forgetting.
