Lost Kids On The Beach

Synopsis

The director embarks on a personal quest in Romania to portray the generation born in 1990, the year after the fall of the country’s dictator Ceausescu. A collective portrait in a multitude of shades. A personal journey in search of the “lost”, where to be lost can mean many different things.

Director Biography

Alina Manolache is a film director, writer and producer of documentary films, with an eye to group portraits and multicharacter structures. A Fine Arts graduate, she was awarded grants in Paris, Lisbon, Reykjavik, Nyon, and she was commissioned for several web documentary series. She is best known for her documentary short, End of Summer, included in the competition at Visions du Reel 2016, highly acclaimed in festivals, cinemas, universities and community events. Lost Kids On The Beach is her first feature-length documentary film, developed through Archidoc (Lisbon – La Femis – Visions du Reel) programme in 2016-2017.
