Synopsis

The documentary tells the story of an aging Macedonian Roma poet/songwriter and the struggles presented in his life-long endeavor to compile and publish a dictionary of the Romani language. The film takes us in to his smoke and family-filled, one-room apartment in Šutka, Skopje, Macedonia, where he finds inspiration to write songs and sell them to famous local folk singers; and escorts us to France, where he is invited to read his poetry to an audience of European intellectuals.

Director Biography

Born 1979, is an artist, photographer and documentary filmmaker. He studied philosophy and anthropology in university and studied film at the New York Film Academy in New York City. He currently lives and works in New York City.
