Following several collaborations, DokuFest and Beldocs have embarked on a strategic partnership to build upon their shared commitment to promoting the art of documentary filmmaking, fostering cultural exchange, and advancing the cinematic landscape in the Western Balkans. This initiative, supported by the British Council in the scope of the "Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans" project funded by the European Union, offered a residency program that immersed young professionals in archival research, culminating in works to be exhibited on August 4th at 18:00, at Shani Efendi Gallery.

The “Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans” (CC4WBs) project, funded by the European Union, focuses on fostering dialogue in the Western Balkans by enhancing the cultural and creative sectors for increased socio-economic impact.

As a result of this collaboration, four researchers took upembarked on extensive residency programs in Prizren and Belgrade. Their work encapsulates three different approaches that will be showcased through an exhibition during the 23rd edition of DokuFest.

Two researchers from Serbia, Ivona Djurić and Radiša Cvetković, explored Kosovo's New Wave of Female Directors and the cultural and social history of Prizren by investigating two forgotten cinemas during their residency programs.

On the other hand, Bengi Muzbeg, a researcher from Prizren and the Head of Film Programs and Archives at the Lumbardhi Foundation, together with Tevfik Rada, a researcher and sociologist from Prizren, researched Kosovo's specific experience within the Yugoslavian cinema heritage.
