On a bitter winter night in Harbin, a boy loses his beloved cards. To ease his anger, he turns to mischief as a form of rebellion. But as each act of defiance gives way to the relentless return of violence—like the unending winter wind—he begins to realize he is caught in a cycle he cannot escape.
Directors' Biography
Qu Jingkai (b. 2000, Inner Mongolia) graduated from the Beijing Film Academy. Drawing on his travel experiences, he incorporates curiosity about the world into his films. His short film Kleptomania was selected for the 76th Berlinale Shorts competition.
