Forgotten Spaceman

In 1988, Afghanistan’s first and only astronaut, Abdul Ahad Momand, traveled to space and made Pashto the fourth language ever spoken beyond Earth when he called his mother from orbit. His journey became a brief symbol of hope as Afghanistan descended into turmoil and millions were forced into exile. Blending history with personal reflection, the film explores diaspora, colonial legacies, and the memory of a fractured and silenced nation.
