reMemBer2.human by the filmmaker Durim Klaiqi is set in a distant future in Pristina and Tirana where the existence of collective memory has become a danger to the technocracy. The dystopian visuals explore abandoned cities, quantum systems, duality with technology and digital life generated by Artificial Intelligence. In between, there are also some parts where the human element, revealed through the director's photo archives, intervenes in the entire course of the film. The choice of music creates the effect that the film performs the function of a stream of consciousness.
The post-apocalyptic reality highlights humanity's general fear of AI for a life that may emerge and will not be the same with the one today. The filmmaker has been inspired by the history of his country, and decisions which he considers a repetition of echoes that can be heard even today. Learning from the past, he has managed to create a story about a dystopian future. A story about the technocratic decisions being made today, and the effect they may have in the future.
