Last night we were in the company of our own Eljesa Beka and the incredible Aleksi Perälä! At DokuNights, after a long day going in and out of cinemas, the white screen at Kino Lumbardhi was infused with the imagery that followed and intertwined with dynamic and decisive rhythms of Eljesa Beka, and the gentle and flowy musical expression of Perälä.

Starting the session with Eljesa Beka, the audiences blended within the immersive experience her music always sets out. Being inspired by literature, her own personal experiences, collecting sounds that are specific to her life and the moments of enjoyment and gatherings, it concludes with an arrangement of the many cultural influences creating a specific code that can only be decrypted by sound itself.

Eljesa’s performance also marks in a particular way a sign that the younger generation, self-starters infused with curiosity and bliss, have found ways to communicate with audiences that are particularly eager to experiment and have their feelings be explored in a peculiar way.

Following Eljesa’s set, Aleksi Perälä, a renowned artist and producer, took the stage with a set characterized by a mesmerizing, flowy sound that perfectly complemented the ambiance of Kino Lumbardhi. His music, infused with natural and elemental components, polished the atmosphere with a sense of peace and rhythm. This harmony made DokuNights a true exploration of the heart and boundaries of music.

Both sets brought together the old time duo: nature and culture, and all the ways it becomes a particular inspiration to encode personal experiences in a dense momentum of events while also listening to nature in a way that it treats body and mind to their own respective rhythms.

It was a truly wonderful night, and DokuNights invites you to join us at Kino Lumbardhi after your cinema, exhibition, talk, and event adventures. The next event, starts at 22:00 on Aug.6.
