Synopsis

In a forest on the outskirts of Barcelona an old shepherd and his flock live alongside a high-tech laboratory for animal experimentation. Two opposite worlds facing each other. Two worlds that are two sides of the same coin. While the shepherd, afflicted with a bone disease, witnesses his profession disappearing, scientists are busier than ever researching the covid vaccine. 'Fauna' is a science fiction fable about the relationship between humans, animals and science in post-pandemic times.

Director Biography

Pau Faus, Filmmaker, visual artist & architect. Based and born in Barcelona (1974). During his working years as an architect, he grew interest in contemporary art movements. From 2009, he exhibited his art work, developed projects and taught workshops in numerous contemporary art centres, home and abroad. He also became part of the urban exploration collective 'Osservatorio Nomade' and published the books ‘Figueres-Paris: 5 hours 30 minutes' (2011) and 'The Retired Cityʼ (2012) among others.
