The 22nd edition of DokuFest is about to take off! And it will be a fantastic one. This is guaranteed by its program, filled with films, concerts, discussions, and other activities, all alongside the enthusiasm of all the staff and volunteers. They are ready to welcome guests from the film industry as well as loyal audiences from all over the world.

The final touches have been made in the cinema venues, so that everything is ready for another extraordinary cultural journey, providing new and memorable experiences.

The relationship between humans and Artificial Intelligence is at the center of this year’s DokuFest theme. According to Veton Nurkollari, the artistic director, the festival has yet another exceptional program of films that revolve around different ideas and relations, whether its humans, nature or even technology. "This year we will focus on Artificial Intelligence starting from the visual identity, then films and debates, to explore where society is concerning these latest developments," said Nurkollari.

The iconic 2001: A Space Odyssey by the legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick will be the opening film of the festival on the 4th of August at Lumbardhi Bahçe, right after the opening ceremony. The Friday night film program includes screenings at DokuKino, DokuKino Plato, Sonar Cinema, Lunar Cinema, and Kino Lumi (check the schedule @ dokufest.com). The after-party is at Andrra Stage where DokuNights kicks off with Peaches/Steffi/Ivana Dragsic.

Linda Llulla, the executive director of DokuFest, explains that the film program runs alongside many other activities that will go beyond the expectations of all festival-goers.  “There will be panel discussions to debate current topics, such as human rights but also issues related to Artificial Intelligence. Then there are musical performances (DokuNights) running from the first night all the way to the festival's closing night. But there is also the program for kids with films, workshops, and yoga," said Llulla.
She expects a great number of guests and visitors to attend this year’s edition, bringing back the usual hectic atmosphere to Prizren.

More journalists than ever will come to cover the 22nd edition of DokuFest. The Media Relations office has accredited 75 journalists so far and expects an even higher number in days to come. Meanwhile, Veron Tara, the coordinator of the Volunteers Department said that 130 youth volunteers have signed up to support festival activities and to have firsthand experience with filmmakers.

DokuFest is the largest film festival in Kosovo. It spans nine exciting days filled with captivating events, including documentary photo exhibitions, engaging debates, informative master classes, and vibrant music performances. DokuFest offers a diverse and immersive experience, celebrating the art of filmmaking while fostering dialogue and appreciation for the cinematic arts in the region.
