Director Agnes Varda's enduring classic follows pop singer Cleo Victoire as she anxiously waits to hear from her doctor if she's terminally ill. Taking place in real time, as Cleo wanders the length of the French capital, Varda's unique story becomes an extraordinarily vivid doc portrait of early 1960's Paris. Cleo From 5 to 7 features a mesmerizing score and acting appearance by Academy Award winning composer Michel Legrand who, like Varda, passed away in 2019 at the age of 86. Cinema critic Dave Kehr writes that, "it's not only the major French New Wave film made by a woman, but a key work of that exciting period—moving, lyrical and mysterious."
