A thousand Suns

A Thousand Suns explores the personal and common heritage left by the live action movie Touki Bouki, made in 1972 in Dakar by Mati Diop’s uncle, filmmaker Djibril Diop Mambety (1943-1998). Thanks to the confidence of her father Wasis Diop, mother discovers her real past and explores her roots based on the traces left by this mysterious movie. A family history of film and exile spread like waves and intersperse in the area of the intimate and the mythical.
