Synopsis

The authors, originally inspired by a motive of half full - half empty glass, interpreted as half life time path, created a film based on the folk custom of setting glass of water on the window for the deceased ones. By this benevolent gesture of the living ones to the dead ones, the story spans the present and the past and the tradition, and like a thread connects those who see the mere black-and-white image with those who have left their mark on it and are no longer there. Although there is something very sad and perhaps tragic in this tale of everyday memory of loved ones, the warmth of this home through color, through calming shot of cigarette smoke, the silent face of an elderly lady, through photos which record time, clearly reaching out to many because what belongs to them actually belongs to audience, or which will once through time belong. Sense of the passage of time will belong, and the feeling of memory will remain. For memories not to become a matter of forgetting, the act of setting the water indicates not only the tradition but also the extent of the life of those who are not there. The motive of the glass rounds this story as a whole as an image of sensitivity of time and memory, but also as something that lasts, at least in half.
