In the English countryside, two neighbours named Derek clash over the future of the land. One is an intensive dairy farmer committed to industrial food production; the other is rewilding his farm, restoring habitats and reintroducing native species. As ponds are dug, animals return and tensions rise, their often humorous feud becomes a story about competing visions of nature, farming and the landscape.

James Damer Dawson is a British filmmaker whose work for television has won BAFTA, Rose d’Or and Grierson awards. His documentaries include Albion Boys, Organ Stops: Saving the King of Instruments and Derek vs Derek, exploring community, heritage and nature.
