When my father burned all the childhood memories I had, I needed to learn how to be happy again
is an experimental documentary that explores the director's childhood through the only two physical items that survived his parents' 2008 divorce: a single photograph from 2000 and a lone VHS tape from 2001. By delving into these fragile fragments, the film investigates a past that can no longer be clearly remembered. The lack of archival objects reflects the main character’s fragmented memories of childhood. Although he remembers very little, a certain feeling from that time has remained with him and continues to shape him today.
