A documentary crew take a pub crawl through 1990s Derry (N. Ireland), observing the young revellers who give themselves to the night while the eyes of the security forces watch on. Using archive, ‘That sanity be kept’ explores being young, being watched and getting drunk during a ceasefire.

Michael Barwise is a director and documentary editor from Derry, N. Ireland. His work has screened at Oscar-qualifying Galway Film Fleadh and Foyle Film Festival, BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica, Belfast and Flatpack Film Festivals, and has been broadcast on BBC and Film4.
