Black & White

Two Times in One Space by Ivan Ladislav Galeta is an experimental black-and-white film based on Nikola Stojanović’s 1968 single-shot In the Kitchen. In 1984, Galeta merged two delayed projections into one, creating a staggered visual narrative. The film contrasts family life with a balcony love scene, exploring spatial perception, cinematic illusion, and the potential of analog techniques to alter reality. It challenges viewers to engage with multiple layers of meaning simultaneously.

Directors' Biography
Ivan Ladislav Galeta, from Zagreb, was a neo-Platonist of European experimental cinema. Behind the abstract, frame-by-frame structure of his films lies a chamber of wonders—formalist explorations rooted in the medium’s prehistory, revealing symbolic spaces and hermetic parallel universes.
