FOCUS UKRAINE
DokuFest joined forces with Docudays, to spotlight Ukrainian documentary cinema and photography through Focus Ukraine at DokuFest in Kosovo. This partnership creates the festival's largest country-focused showcase to date, highlighting Ukrainian culture's resilience and creativity.
DokuPhoto, is the accompanying photo exhibition of Focus Ukraine at DokuFest, that showcases impactful photographs from Ukrainian artists.
This year’s DokuPhoto exhibition showcases the profound and intimate work of Ukrainian photographer Mykhaylo Palinchak, who dives deep into the lives and landscapes of his war-torn homeland. The exhibition offers a window into the personal and communal resistance that define the contemporary Ukrainian war history.
The exhibition is curated by Sasha Nabieva, curator of the Interdisciplinary Art Lab: Docu/synthesis x Ukraine War Archive on behalf of Docudays and Ferdi Limani on behalf of DokuFest.
The Focus Ukraine project is implemented by DokuFest Kosovo and Docudays UA with the support of IZOLYATSIA foundation, Trans Europe Halles and Malý Berlín and co-financed by the ZMINA: Rebuilding program, created with the support of the European Union under a dedicated call for proposals to support Ukrainian displaced people and the Ukrainian Cultural and Creative Sectors.
